A great deal has been done to promote the Pennsylvania Wilds to tourists outside the region, but what about communicating the initiative's
successes and opportunities to the people who live here?
That's the goal of the PA Wilds Resource Center: to keep residents informed (and hopefully inspired) about the community revitalization efforts going
on around the region, and to make it easier for them to participate.
This site has three main sections. “About PA Wilds” includes background on the Pennsylvania Wilds initiative and information on its related programs,
such as how to join the Artisan Trail, apply for logo use or order free copies of the Design Guide

BULLY HOLLOW ALPACA FARM

Every summer, hundreds of people travel to the northwestern corner of the Pennsylvania Wilds to canoe and kayak the Allegheny River. It’s easy to
understand why. The Allegheny, Pennsylvania's premier flatwater paddling destination, is part of the nation’s Wild and Scenic Rivers System. It boasts
several campgrounds, trails, historical sites and other points of interest, such as the Allegheny National Forest. Paddlers share the calm and scenic
waterway with eagles, Great Blue Heron, snapping turtles, white tailed-deer and many other species. In 2003, National Geographic Adventure named
the Allegheny River one of the nation's "40 Great Fall Weekend Getaways".
Whether you’re looking for a relaxing day trip with your buddies or an overnighter to teach the kids camping skills,
we’re here to help. Just be careful – you might get hooked. Some of our groups have been coming back for more than 20 years.
